June 7th is National Donut Day, drop in between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM and come in for a treat to celebrate! Created by The Salvation Army Lassies in Chicago in 1938, to honor those members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Not only were these Lassies thought of as brave and courageous for going to the front lines of the war, but they also boosted morale for the soldiers who hadn't had homecooked meals in months.
